Green Box Arts Festival — 17th Annual, Artist Residencies, and Cultural Impact in Green Mountain Falls
OPENING
The prayer was led by Dana and the Pledge by Mike. Rebecca's birthday (her 39th!) was celebrated with a splendid rendition of Happy Birthday.
CLUB BUSINESS
• TheatreWorks London Trip 2026: A 10-day theater-focused trip, running for 40 years, with plays and special guests daily. More info coming soon.
• New Board Roles Announced: Barbara Gaddis — Vice President; Dana — Sergeant of Arms; Eric Scott — Secretary (next 10 years); Marty — Madame Chairman.
• Board Ceremony & Barbecue: Saturday, June 28th at noon at Paula and Larry Harris' house. Sign-up circulating.
• Club's 79th Birthday: Celebrated May 24th, 2025. A list of presidents from 1946 to 2025 was shared.
• Financial Update: Club funds are in a 4.2% US government fund, with $95,000 available. Investment committee will review options for balanced growth and income.
KEYNOTE: SCOTT R.C. LEVY — GREEN BOX ARTS FESTIVAL
The 17th Annual Green Box Arts Festival received 350 applications from all 50 states and 26 countries. The Sally Bush Community Center has been refurbished into a 180-seat theater. Located in Green Mountain Falls, Green Box is a powerhouse cultural institution with national and international reach.
2025 Artist Line-Up
• Lynn Tomlinson, Parker Yamasaki, Coco, Yasuaki Onishi, Nandita Shenoy, Kamri Ivory, Blake Field
• Focus on Colorado artists; screening of The Unsinkable Molly Brown
• Colorado Springs Youth Symphony and a Gershwin performance by Ryan and Ryan
• Colorado Ballet headlining with 7 performances and a new 30-minute world premiere
• Visual installations: interactive sound-responsive LED branches, copper foil river rock sculptures, and a 6,000 sq ft Skynet installation by Patrick Schirn

• 4th of July: Bada Boom Brass Band and 4th annual Water Lantern launch
• Miami Art Week: December 1–5, 2025
• Farm and Art Market: September 20, 2025
• NYC Trip: April 21–26, 2026 (The Shelburne hotel)

Education and Community
Green Box Arts Camps serve ~100 children from 1st grade through high school throughout June, with about one-third on full scholarship. A free 3-hour writing workshop is included during the festival. Professor Homer José Ariano Antonio conducts guided art walks across 15 installations throughout the town.
Impact
15,000 visitors to the Skyspace over three years, with 800 year-round residents. Green Box is an economic driver and deeply integrated into the Green Mountain Falls community. The Kirkpatrick Foundation covers about two-thirds of the annual budget. Memberships start at $150, with a new festival magazine launching this year.
